Throughout our ski building seminars in Garching by Munich you learn everything important that is concerning the topic – ski. We will explain to you what shape and structure a ski must have, as well as the reasons why and which one it best suits you. Together with you and in accordance with a chosen date, we build your specially tailored pair of skis with your own personalised design. We guide you all the way through the ski building process, including material selection and it’s preparation, as well as water jet cutting of the ski base, CNC milling of the wooden carcass of the ski and the integration of your individual wishes.
At the end of the course, you will be able to build – all by yourself – your next pair of skis.
BASIC SKI BUILDING SEMINAR
Our prototype ski building courses are located in the MakerSpace workshop (www.makerspace.de) in Garching near Munich and last approximatelly 2.5 days. We use only high-quality materials and provide these for each course: wooden ski core, ski base, iron edges, dampening and fiberglass. The price does not include personalized materials such as bindings, printed design fleece, veneer etc.
The price for the BASIC SKI BUILDING SEMINAR is only 650 €.
PRO MATERIAL SKI BUILDING WORKSHOP
During the PRO MATERIAL SEMINAR you can learn about and transform different special materials. From special light-weight, over racing designs to the integrated damping and protection elements – make your dream high-end ski a reality. If desired, we can provide you with a lightweight wooden core, carbon or titanium, as well as side-walls, tip / tail protection and cap-construction.

PRO DESIGN SKI BUILDING WORKSHOP
During the PRO DESIGN SEMINAR you can learn more about ski designs and make the top layer of your skis even more individual and elaborate. Experiment with wood engraving, veneer or work with cut-outs and create a design with veneer blanks – test and try out your special ideas. Besides dyeing the skis with resin, you can also incorporate different fabrics, printed fleece or top-sheet and incorporate titanium.

WITH THE DESIGNIf you wish to have your veneer lasered or a special printed design, we can support you with it. We are happy to create a personalised design for you or prepare one according to your guidelines.
DAY 1 – FRIDAY 4:30 PM
SKI BASE CUT OUT WITH THE WATER JET CUTTING MACHINE
Together, we cut your ski base according to your desired shape and waist with the water jet cutter.
MILLING THE SKI WOODEN CORE WITH THE SHOP-BOT MACHINE
Together with you, we will mill the core of the ski out of wood with the use of the high tech CNC wood milling machine -ShopBot.
THE SKIFORM ADJUSTMENT
Together, we pick a tip- and a tail- form for your ski and prepare them for the upcoming lamination.
DAY 2 – SATURDAY
combine together all the materials, piece by piece.
EDGE GLUEING
We start the whole process by binding together the ski base with the steel edges.
SKI BASE & WOOD CORE
We place and align the wooden core and the ski base on the ski form and prepare everything for laminating.
LAMINATING
After everything has been aligned and placed, we start to laminate – this way we combine materials together. Now it’s time for some action!
VACUUMING
Though the vacuuming process we press the skis into the right shape.
DAY 3 – SUNDAY - THE FINAL
SKI SAW-OUT
After the skis have been unpacked, we must saw them out to give them their appropriate shape.
FINAL POLISH
After rough work, it’s time for some fine tuning – the ski now gets its final polish.
